The Power of Flowers

As the world and our community grapple with the effects of COVID-19, as an industry we must come together and support each other in these difficult times. We’ve had several days to talk with our colleagues, customers and even followers—and we can all agree on one thing: the powerful effects of flowers.

As an industry, we need to continue to promote the positive impact that flowers have on our well-being and emotional health. Now, more than ever, people are battling with stress and anxiety. Scientific research has shown that flowers help ease stress and anxiety. Studies done by Rutgers University have also proven that flowers boost moods by releasing brain chemicals like oxytocin, dopamine and serotonin—creating a positive reaction to flowers.

The more we talk about these positive effects, the more impact they will have. Promoting our community and industry also means talking about the people behind the flowers—the dedicated individuals that have made it their life’s work and mission to help us bring joy to others. Whether we’re talking about the farm workers, the freelance designers, the florists, our wholesale and supermarket partners or even a consumer that loves flowers—none of us would be where we are if it wasn’t for them.

Thank you for helping us, thank you for being there for us and thank you for showing us that we are part of an extremely special community. We are so grateful for what you all do and we will continue to support each and every one of you during these times.

For now, let’s continue spreading all the love, joy and positive effects that flowers can bring to everyone. Let’s continue to promote our products and their benefits but most importantly, let’s believe in the power of flowers. Let’s believe in the power of our community. Remember, we are in the business of helping people express positive emotions and whether the world knows it or not, it needs us more than ever.
