An Interactive Mother’s Day

For this year’s Mother’s Day, we wanted to create something BIG and celebrate moms with a BANG. We couldn’t figure out exactly what to do until we talked to one of our childhood best friends. What better way to make all of our flower dreams come true than to help her, a mother of three beautiful boys, create the most fun Mother’s Day shopping event? Luckily for us, she loves flowers and wanted everyone to experience some floral magic!

Our BFF, Adriana, a local celebrity/influencer, organized a trunk show/shopping event to support women owned businesses and entrepreneurs. Being the hostess with the mostest that she is, she wanted her “fans” to have a fabulous time.

When she asked us to work with Ana Valencia of Let’s Bloom Floral to create these flower experiences we knew we were in good hands. Ana started Let’s Bloom almost three years ago, and has been Adriana’s go-to floral designer. Ana came up with a concept for an arch that would be the perfect welcome to the event and an ideal instagram moment. Adri is a lover of all things pink and Ana made sure to take that into account. We used a mix of greens including Cocculus and Viburnum Lucidum as the base and added some Limonum for texture. Then, we added some earthtone, pink, and cream Carnations and Minicarnations. To make it all pop, we played around with our beautiful Ah!Maze Roses!

Ana also offered a floral arrangement class at the trunk show using some of our flowers. She led the women and children through floral basics: identifying the different flowers, care and handling, and arrangement composition. With so many flower options, the women could get creative with their designs. Each arrangement was a unique creation and all came out beautiful. No matter the skill level, floral arrangement classes are always a great idea. Whether you’re hosting a small brunch or a large corporate event, these classes allow people to express themselves, decompress, and have a good time. You can hire a floral designer to help you or you can DIY. The options are endless!

It was a lovely afternoon well spent in honor of moms and other maternal figures in our lives. We got to do some shopping, see some friends, and most importantly, share the power of flowers with women and girls of all ages. As you plan your Mother’s Day festivities, make sure to incorporate some flower magic into the mix.

Happy Mother's Day to all who take on that important role!
