There’s something in the air when the holidays are just around the corner, a mix of nostalgia, warmth, and anticipation that makes everything feel different. That was the feeling we wanted to capture with this photoshoot: a celebration of tradition and the cozy spirit of the season. We leaned into a darker, classic palette that carried the richness of the holidays, and the shoot became even more special thanks to our dear friend Cristina, who welcomed us into her home. Her space and stories, along with pieces filled with family history, helped us bring this nostalgic holiday mood to life.
Bringing Retro Holiday to Life
There’s something about the retro holiday trend that just feels right this season. We brought it to life with glowing greens and deep reds, colors that instantly set a familiar and nostalgic mood.
For this effect, we styled the table as if we were preparing for the best dinner of our lives, plates carefully set, glasses waiting to be filled, and down the center a beautiful, traditional floral design.
We decorate it with Roses, Alstroemeria, and purple Cushion, with the intention of creating that classic holiday feeling, while the Burgundy Dianthus Ball added fullness and made the whole table feel richer and more inviting.
The burgundy tones paired beautifully with the wine-colored candles, softly flickering over the plates.
The arrangements were placed in Ocisly’s handmade pottery, whose vintage clay textures complemented the flowers and tied the whole table together.
In the end, what really makes the holidays nostalgic are the stories behind the details. As we decorated the table and placed the floral arrangements, Cristina added something that made it even more special, her mom’s vintage fabric napkins, passed down from generation to generation. They carried family history and love, turning the table into something more than just decoration. Along with the flowers, Ocisly’s handmade pottery tied everything together, complementing the setup with colors and textures that felt familiar and true to the season, really bringing us down memory lane.
We felt truly nostalgic while creating this shoot, the colors evoked everything we wanted for the season and brought the story to life. This was possible thanks to floral designer Michelle Riveron, whose vision and dedication made every detail come together beautifully. We are deeply thankful for her creativity and heart in shaping this holiday moment with us!
As 2025 comes to an end, we’re grateful for a year filled with flowers, creativity, and meaningful moments shared with our community. This season, we wish you joy, peace, and time spent with loved ones, and may 2026 bring even more beauty, inspiration, and stories to cherish.
